There is NOTHING like being at the end of yourself and allowing God to take over.  Most people (I think) look at our lives from the outside and think I would never want all that burden, all that stress.  It’s funny though, I have always felt like we’ve lead a charmed sort of life…….not because we have everything, but because we have more of Him.  When we asked God to save her life, He walked us through every moment……never leaving our side.  And then in the blink of an eye….there we were….newlyweds with nothing but our tiny baby girl and hearts full of dreams and plans and He handed them to us and we became a family of seven.  Everyday for the last six years He came through in a big way….from a car to hold us, a home to connect us, wisdom…..Oh my!  How we needed His wisdom!

Because we are NEVER satisfied with small or ordinary, we have BIG needs.  That translates to needing God in a BIG way….all the time!

What that means to me is a deeper knowing of Him

A chance to hear His voice

to walk closer with Him

to see His fingerprints all over my life.

And I wouldn’t trade it for a thing.

God does answer prayers.

He is faithful.

He will supply all my needs.

Our great need, becomes His opportunity.

Without a need there can be no miracle.

Do you have a need today?

Go ahead

Trust Him.

Ask Him.

And as our family walks through yet another season of big changes, we find ourselves with very few answers…….

pressing in

asking Him

to supply all that we need.

441. a vehicle big enough to fit our ever-growing family comfortably

442. a direction for my husbands career…….God is opening crazy doors!

443. a home….small enough to manage, but large enough to keep us all connected

444. restoration of a relationship…..with us and His Heavenly Father

445. our prodigal to find the God He knows and loves and walk with him again

446. a vehicle for my husband

447. a future for a boy, grown physically into a man, who was shaped by his birth mother’s bad choices and cannot live a life of full independence

448. Energy….just to get through the list of things that Must.Be.Done in the next two months

449. Grace…EVERYDAY

550. A Savior

“You can be sure that God will take care of everything that you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

  1. Maggie, Your story about your daughter…is so amazing. Not just the healing, but the love and comfort you share. Laura Story recently came out with a new cd and it is filled with songs about finding blessings…and mercy in the storms/tears in our lives. Have you ever heard her testimony? It is amazing…more amazing that God is using her words, her testimony, her life to help others….just like he is using you and your story. Thank you for sharing it. I am so glad you are back….I have missed you!

  2. I read this yesterday when Ryan posted it on Facebook, and wanted to comment, though I didn’t know you. I felt akward, so I didn’t. But I know that God wanted me to thank you for sharing your heart. God is faithful, He does hear us, and He does provide.

God told my husband to quit his well-paying job, for us to move from everything we knew…friends, family, stability, convenience…and to follow without a clue of what we were to do next. This life-long city girl moved to the family farm in the middle of Missouri. Nothing for the last two years has made any sense, God repeatedly closed the door on job opportunities for my husband, all of our belongings were ruined in the storage building, we completely wiped out our savings account, and every time we thought there was only enough money to last another month or two, we watched God sustain us. I felt like the woman with the flour and the oil that never ran out! God provided every need that we had and reminded us daily God is good, He is faithful, He knows our needs, and He does not forget us. He will provide what your family needs!! I will keep your family in my prayers and watch expectantly to see how He answers your prayers.

P.S. My husband just got a job offer last week! :)

    • WOW!!! First, don’t ever hesitate to comment! That’s what keeps me going ;) . I actually don’t know a good portion of the people who read my blog. That’s what is so cool about it. I know God is using what I write! Sounds like you should’ve been blogging your story!! Our Pastor likes to say that’s how you know it is God, that is a crazy, crazy, unbelievable idea or plan. I wanted to back out, even tried to so many times. I’m so glad I remained faithful. So glad to hear about your husband’s job!! Praise God!! THANK YOU for sharing your story!!
